Noise pollution
As if the constant tinny sound of Heart FM from a colleague's mobile phone ALL DAY was not enough, now a car alarm has been going for the last ten minutes. Happiness would feel like a warm HERF gun, and though these seem to be more of a threat to the user than the target at the moment, I live in hope.

ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, the building concerned is the Chambers of William Clegg QC, and I bet I'd be sent to Gitmo. Camden's Environmental Health team were actually very good, phoning me up after ten minutes to tell me that the maintenance men were on their way, and everything should be fixed in half an hour's time, which it was. Everything's quiet again, apart from Heart FM and the two people in our open-plan offices phoning up our colleges about a survey by the Home Office. Typically, they gave us a week to canvass 240 colleges and report back.
